WAKE UP CALL 03:28
WAKE UP CALL You swapped your wake and bake routine for ketamine Upgraded from dexies to crack, well you wanna be careful with that shit, cowboy Because it’s hard to come back Good morning mate this is your wakeup call Might not be what you want to hear Your girlfriend doesn’t come around anymore because your place smells like boiled arse Maybe mow the lawn before you boof another nang You had better hope the damage isn’t irreversible to your noodle and to your friendship group You pissed yourself in the Uber No stars Zero stars When you’ve got your mum screaming at you to get out of bed, time to make some adjustments, fuckhead We grow so weary of your tomfoolery We grow oh so weary

BOBBY PIN 02:50
BOBBY PIN Let me be your bobby pin nestled so close to your skin I am everywhere except for when you need me Rummage around behind your couch You almost touched me By the cistern and in and around the sink Best mates with a twenty cent piece and some twisted

JONO THE FRIENDLY TOASTER Getting down to my own groove and I can teach you a thing or two But old age is creeping in, it’s happening to me and it will happen to you I need an immortal vessel to keep all of my wonderful ideas in Something robust and stainless steel Got more than a few cheeky greys coming through and my knees are cactus So the plan is to transfer my consciousness in to a toaster with the help of science and a whole lot of practice Most important meal of the day, i’m gonna be the new Dr. Karl The year is 2092 and the resource wars are raging The liberal party and their affiliates have barricaded themselves inside ikeas across the country, taking control of all the fresh water and mandarins While everyone else survives on rats and fucken subway cookies A kid finds me under a pile of woman’s weekly magazines, takes me back to camp and rigs me up to a biofuel generator I regale them with tales from the past, stories about Phil Collins, Enya and Icehouse (not a bad little band that) I notice they’re eating their rats raw, “what are you doing that for? Put your rats in me, i’ll get em nice and crispy Jono the friendly toaster Here to save humanity I’m going to live forever Rats for breakfast

EX-EXPATS 02:14
EX-EXPATS What we couldn’t fit in the wagon we gave to the church What we couldn’t fit in our pockets we buried beneath the earth When we got off the highway we were greeted with disdain Sideways glances behind fringes, hidden so plain My hair is in my eyes I drank too much coffee Bought a new bike Got hit by a taxi Moving back down south Failed to see what the fuss was about No longer spending our days getting bashed by tradies My bowels betrayed me
7.
BBQ BOSS 02:52
BBQ BOSS Which bloody way did you take? I’ve already been here for 45 minutes Don’t tell me you took the main road, you absolute beginners Already on my fifth stubby and I’ve caught a bucket full of tommy ruffs Already on my eighth stubby and I’ve got more drugs in my bum than an overly enthusiastic festival goer Which bakery did you stop at? That’s the shit one What did you pay for petrol? A dollar sixty one? That’s what you get for stopping at on the run Pass me that apron Hand me those tongs Kiss the cook Pass me that apron Hand me those tongs I can cook those sausages better than you Up your clacker the whole way home hanging on the horn Weaving in and out of traffic like a maniac only to spend the night in the car because I can’t face my family

about

TIERSMAN returned to the studio in October 2019 to record their follow up to 2017’s debut release, ‘Big Trouble’. GOOD GRIEF was recorded live at Ghost Note Studios in Adelaide, South Australia over two straight days, recorded and mixed by James ‘Jimmy’ Balderston and then mastered by Dav Byrne at Iridium Audio.

GOOD GRIEF is an expansion on elements of TIERSMAN’s past writing and delves deeper into the good time swagger of their collective bones. GOOD GRIEF is a journey through post-hardcore and rock territories, spinning wheels over big riffs on the way to meet your pals for breakfast, but not before stopping off at the watering hole for a gulp of abject misery.
Not unlike on ‘Big Trouble’, TIERSMAN take you further down the rabbit hole lyrically on GOOD GRIEF, expanding their conceptual musical and lyrical juxtaposition. Tales of rebirth, sobering up, running the barbeque and transferring your consciousness into a toaster, set on the backdrop of bludgeoning.
